EvolvSolar: Powering Productivity in a New Office

We’re big fans of fresh starts, and a new office marks a brand-new chapter for your team and business. We had the pleasure of working with EvolvSolar to make sure their new office started on the right foot. After outgrowing their previous space, the solar energy company relocated to give their team more room to work, and we were on board for making that vision come to life.

Making renewable energy more accessible is the mission for EvolvSolar. With a team of design, engineering, and construction experts, EvolvSolar plans, installs, and maintains solar energy systems. Their goal is to give back to the environment, while helping their Canadian customers save on electricity bills. We couldn’t be more excited to help them do the awesome work they do.

Planning for Everyone in the Office

EvolvSolar needed a combination of private offices and open-area workstations to comfortably accommodate up to 17 team members. Through consultations and space planning services, we got a better understanding of their team and the way they work. We also took the time to assess EvolvSolar’s new office space. From there, we suggested office layout options, along with furniture recommendations that worked with the proposed floor plan.

Creating Workstations in an Open Area

Making sure each team member has enough space, we used Performance Furnishing’s Classic L-Shape Desks with a radius corner. The radius corner, a curved design on the inner corner of the L-shape, also provides more surface area for a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. We put these L-shape desks together to form pods of workstations where impromptu collaboration can easily take place.

To add privacy, we used the Borders divider collection by Performance Furnishings. It mounts to the desk through grommets, making Borders a great way to create privacy in an open area without taking up any additional floor space.

Private Offices that Welcome

Just like the workstations in the open area, we used Classic L-shape Desks for every private office. The difference is that we opted for desks with a bowfront feature. This feature extends the front edge of the desk, providing more surface area and legroom for guests, clients, or colleagues sitting on the other side. We love bowfront desks for private offices because it makes collaboration more comfortable and welcoming.
